Spring symbolizes new beginnings, making it a great time to try something new with your look. Whether it's a trendy hairstyle or a new makeup, consider this your infallible guide to all things beautiful this season.
When it comes to your makeup, it's all about looking fresh and accentuating your youth. Gone is the harsh liner and flat faces of winter; this spring, aim for dewy skin, soft eyes, blushing cheeks, and girly pink lips. A subtle smokey eye for nighttime events will take your look from natural to sophisticated in little time. Set down the tweezers -- full brows have been in style for a couple years and are much more flattering than their overplucked counterparts. And if makeup isn't your thing, don't worry -- spring is the perfect season to go for the natural look.
Quick Tip: Sweep highlighting powder across your cheekbones to really brighten your face.
The new season gives all of us an opportunity to change up our hairstyle. These ideas are great if you don't want to commit to a drastic cut or color change (which could turn out scarier than a horror movie, honestly). Braids were big in 2012 and they're still a hit this year. (If you're still stuck on one technique, expand your braid know-how with a fishtail braid or a messy side braid.) Hair accessories, which I collect like a proud hoarder, aren't for little girls anymore -- try grown-up pieces with a messy braid like Blake Lively (below). Try a top-knot, low pony, or messy waves, because who really wants to go through the trouble to get perfect hair? This season, a lazy-hair attitude is tres chic.

Thanks for the guide! I'm planning on getting a new haircut over spring break... I think it's time for a change and springtime is the perfect time to do it.
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it! I am in desperate need of a new haircut. :P
DeleteThanks so much for the ideas! I really liked the accessorized side braid. :)
ReplyDeleteYou're so welcome! That's my favorite, too. I love the bohemian vibe her messy hair has.
DeleteHi! :) How do you style hair that has side bangs? I recently got mine cut but they look stuck to my head and I don't know what to do with them. Thanks! :)

Natalie..
ReplyDeleteWhen you are writing your post, there is a button on the right hand side of the bar with all the editing choices. It looks like a paper ripped in half, and its called a "jump break". When you have typed what you want the "short part with the read more button", you click it and it will cut it off there when you publish it! Hope this helps!!
Check out my blog..;) http://www.madetoolove.blogspot.com
Thanks so much Courtney Erin! I actually figured it out before you even posted this.... thanks again!

DeleteHi, my name is Aimee :) Love the blog so much... I actually need some beauty advice :) this is really embarrassing >_< I have a bad habit of well, popping pimples! I'm ruining my skin and my face but I can't seem to stop. Do you have any advice to stop this disgusting habit of mine? I'm so embarrassed about it, sometimes I pick at my face unconsciously :((( thank you for all your beauty advice, I love your blog!!! ^_^
ReplyDeleteHey, Aimee! To be honest, I have the same bad habit! I have pretty bad skin. It's calmed down recently but I still have some scarring from old acne. And of course, most of it was from picking at my pimples! As someone who has been there, force yourself to stop your habit now. Try replacing it with a good habit, like washing your face every day or applying zit cream. Eating a lot of zinc (found in leafy green veggies) will help heal the skin you've already damaged.

Hello! I love this blog (it's actually saved as a favorite on my laptop), and it has such wonderful advice. One of my favorite 'do's is a side fishtail braid. If my hair is being a bit unco-operative, or I'm low on time, this is what I go for. And some times, even just an old school braid pulled sorta loose is great. I also love milk maid braids. When it's hot out, and you want your hair off your neck, it's a great way to do so. Have a super snazzy day:)
ReplyDeleteWhenever I'm crunched for time (or haven't washed my hair in three days, shhhh) I always do a side braid. They're cute and easy!
