+10 Top Fashion Trends for Fall 2012

Fall is my favorite season for a number of reasons. Fall is the only time when Texas weather is actually pleasant. There is great food, good sales, and tons of pretty fashion trends to try. Fall is considered fashion's greatest season because there is so much to experiment with; summer's tribal tee can be paired with this season's loose cardigan and there aren't as many weather restrictions on your wardrobe. This season, wear something you thought you could never pull off before. To get you started, here are this season's eleven prettiest trends and advice on how to wear them. Get stylin'!

 1. Don't want to grow up? No problem! Peter Pan collars are dainty, childlike, feminine, and playful. For more outfit options, you can shop for a detatchable collar to wear with any of your tops. So cute!

2. Show off your legs this season without showing skin. Patterned jeans are one of the trendiest looks in stores this season. Too bold for you? Think again -- try a monochromatic floral print with a solid tee. One-color jeans are easier to pull off and don't draw unneccessary attention.

3.  Feeling romantic? Flouncy blouses are so chic! To balance your proportions, pair your pretty top with some classic skinny jeans.

4. It's ok to play up your hips sometimes. A pretty peplum top, skirt, or dress can do the trick. The peplum style flairs out at the hips and is both trendy and feminine.

5. Get cozy with some oversized comfy cardigans. They look adorable and they don't require much thought in the morning because they go with anything. A cup of tea, perhaps?

6. Another bold look to try is colored denim. Spring introduced mint jeans (amazing!) and the trend carries on into fall with richer autumnal tones like rust, navy, and mustard yellow.

7. Can't get enough of cute critters? Forget animal print -- animal motifs are becoming increasingly popular and fun. (My personal favorite when it comes to fashion? Owls. I can't resist.)

8. Beauty is in the details -- shoulder details, that is! A simple top can be taken to new heights with interesting decals, sequins, or contrasting fabric on the shoulders or sleeves.

9. What could be more girly than sparkly sequins? To avoid going overboard, wear sparkly accessories with plain clothes or choose a top with sequin accents.

10. For a feminine touch, incorporate lovely lace into any outfit. It's delicate and pretty, and the modern styles won't leave you feeling like you borrowed Grandma's old Sunday dress.
11. When it comes to clothes, I believe sassy stripes can do no wrong. The nautical look is a classic, and using deeper tones and fall colors will help you transition this fashion staple into your closet this season.

  1. I must say I am not impressed. This blog started out as a blog for Christian girls looking for something for modesty and God-honoring. How is this different from any other? I'm so dissapointed

    1. This blog has always been based on fashion and beauty with a godly perspective. While not all of the posts deal specifically with the issue of modesty, all posts seek to give Christian girls options and advice on how to dress stylishly and modestly at the same time. While I can't meet everyone's modesty standards, I do try to keep a modest perspective on all clothing featured on the blog. This blog has always had fashion-related posts.

  4. Go Melissa! I think these clothes are modest. Depending on a girl's body type, some clothes are more modest then others.

Although I'm not the sort of person to keep up with the trends, I totally love the cardigans. They are so versatile and fun to wear!
