Top 20 Summer Beauty Tips

Look your best this summer with our favorite sun-kissed beauty tips and tricks that will give you more time in the sun and less time in front of the mirror. Wondering what to do with your new free time? Check out our fun summer bucket list.

  1. A pretty side braid keeps your hair out of your face (great for swimming, too!).
  2. If you have good skin, skip the foundation and use a tinted moisturizer with sunblock.
  3. Stay shine-free with a mattifying face powder.
  4. Try a messy bun updo to keep your hair off of your neck and shoulders.
  5. Skip the lipstick and use a tinted balm instead. (We recommend Burt's Bees.)
  6. Wear sunscreen with at least SPF 30 every day to protect your skin.
  7. Freshen up with a fruity or floral body spray.
  8. Our side twirl ponytail is the perfect summer 'do.
  9. Drink at least six glasses of water every day to flush out the impurities in your skin.
  10. Get beachy waves by spritzing your hair with salt water and putting it in a messy bun overnight while it's still damp.
  11. Protect hair from chlorine by rinsing it in cool water before and after you hit the pool.
  12. Sweep bronzer over your cheeks, forehead, nose and chin to fake a sun-kissed glow without the burn.
  13. Waterproof mascara can dry out your lashes, so only use it when you're going swimming.
  14. If you plan on using tanning lotion, exfoliate your skin first.
  15. Eat lots of fruits and veggies to give your skin a perfect glow.
  16. Go for the natural look this summer -- too much makeup will make you sweat more.
  17. Use a leave-in conditioner to repair sun-fried hair.
  18. Paint your toenails whenever you wear sandals -- you'll want to show off your feet all day!
  19. Use conditioner instead of shaving cream on your legs for super soft skin.
  20. Smile! This brightens your whole face (and your day!).

  3. If you go to the beach and your legs or underarms are not as smooth as you would like them to be when you shave try the lotion "Nair." I use this all the time instead of shaving and it leaves my legs and underarms looking smooth and fresh!(SMALL NOTE)some people may have irritations to Nair. If so, try it a few more times and if the irritation stops continue using it. If you continue to have reaction to the lotion Nair than stop using it all together. Hope this helps :)

    1. I've always wanted to try that but haven't done it yet. Do you still have to shave, or can you just put the lotion on and the hair's gone?
