Faith Friday: Dealing with Change

A lot can change in a year. You can lose people you love, build new relationships, and be tested in ways you never thought you would.

When things change, life can feel like a roller coaster. It's amazing how one thing can turn your whole world upside down. A painful breakup. A new home. A divorce. These things can throw your life out of balance and make you feel like you'll never catch up with everything that's happening around you.

While God calls us to lead lives that are changed for Him, it's comforting to know that no matter what happens in your life, His love for you doesn't change. Hebrews 13:8 says, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."

Your world may be spinning out of control, but God is a constant force in your life. He is constantly fighting for you, pursuing you, and helping you grow. Because He doesn't change, every promise He made to you in the Bible still stands today.

Victor Frankl said, "When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves." You can't control the people and situations in your life, but you can control how much of yourself you give to God. Giving control to Him is the best thing you can do anytime you experience change, and letting that little change happen within you can help steady whatever roller coaster you're riding today.

  1. My family and I lost my aunt to cancer last December, I have never gone through something that hard before. Sadly my relationship with God has not been the best because of her death, I feel like I can't trust him anymore. Do you have any advice?

  3. Hi.:) I hate to bother you with a question...Anyways, I was wondering if we could lose our salvation. My friend says we can by choosing to not follow God, but I asked my Pastor and he said we can't. I'm so confused and troubled. Thanks for reading this! And if you have too many questions I totally understand. Thanks so much!
    P.S I love your blog!!
